Know About Mahila Samman Scheme & Sanjeevani Yojana
Former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has started the registration process of two Delhi government schemes namely Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojna and Sanjeevani Yojana. While the former scheme is aimed at empowering women in Delhi, the latter aims to provide health coverage to the senior citizens in the capital. To initiate the registration process, the former CM made a personal visit to the door-to-door campaign.

What is the Mahila Samman Scheme?
As the name suggests, the Mahila Samman Scheme is meant for women. This scheme of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is aimed at providing financial assistance to women in Delhi. The female beneficiaries of this scheme will get Rs. 1000 every month as financial assistance from Delhi government.
Further, if AAP wins the 2025 Delhi elections, the financial assistance amount will be increased to Rs. 2100. However, women who actively pay income tax cannot be beneficiaries of this scheme.
To enroll for the scheme, there is no requirement to visit a government office. Women interested in applying for the scheme simply need to have a valid Voter ID with them. AAP workers will visit the localities and do registration on site. Once registered, a confirmation will be given to the women.
Eligibility of Mahila Samman Scheme
Let’s find out the eligibility requirements for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme:
- The woman must be an official voter in Delhi.
- Her annual income must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
- She should be between the age of 18 – 60 years.
- If a woman is already getting benefits from any pension scheme, they are not eligible to get Mahila Samman Scheme’s benefits.
- Any woman with a four-wheeler in her name is ineligible for the scheme.
- A woman who has paid income tax in the last FY will also be ineligible.
- Female government employees, MPs, MLAs and councillors are ineligible.
What is Sanjeevani Yojana?
Sanjeevani Yojana is yet another trending scheme launched by the AAP government. This scheme is aimed at providing health coverage to the elderly residents of Delhi.
The scheme focuses on the middle class senior citizens and covers the cost of treatment in all public and private hospitals. One does not need to apply for this scheme online. The application process for the scheme will be simultaneously done with Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme, through door-to-door visits by AAP workers.
Eligibility of Sanjeevani Yojana
The following eligibility criteria must be met to be qualified for this scheme:
- The individual should be a senior citizen i.e., they should be at least 60 years of age.
- They should be a resident of Delhi.
Conclusion
The AAP schemes Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana are aimed at providing financial assistance to women and health coverage to senior citizens respectively. At present, there is no online registration process for these schemes. The registration will be done by AAP workers through door-to-door visits.
