On the occasion of 79th Independence Day address from the historic Red Fort, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled a landmark initiative — the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, with an outlay of ₹1 lakh crore.

This scheme is not just about numbers, it’s about dreams, opportunities, and futures. Over the next two years, it aims to support the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs, giving fresh hope to young Indians entering the workforce for the very first time.

At its heart, the scheme provides a win–win for both employees and employers:

  • Youth stepping into their first job can receive direct financial support.
  • Employers who create new jobs will also be rewarded for their contribution.

Part A – Support for First-Time Employees

If you’re starting your career and registered with EPFO, this part of the scheme is for you.

  • You can receive up to ₹15,000 as an incentive, given in two instalments.
  • To be eligible, your salary should be up to ₹1 lakh.
  • The first instalment comes after 6 months of service.
  • The second instalment comes after 12 months, once you complete a financial literacy program.

To build healthy financial habits, a portion of this money will be saved in a fixed deposit account, giving you the benefit of savings you can use later.

Impact: Nearly 1.92 crore first-time employees are expected to benefit from this.

Part B – Incentives for Employers

Employers play a huge role in creating opportunities, especially in the manufacturing sector. To encourage them:

  • For every new employee with a salary up to ₹1 lakh, employers can get up to ₹3,000 per month for two years.
  • For manufacturing companies, this incentive will even continue into the 3rd and 4th year.

Impact: This could lead to 2.6 crore new jobs, giving a massive boost to industries across the country.

How the Incentives Will Be Paid

  • For employees (Part A): Incentives will be directly transferred into your bank account using the Aadhaar-based Direct Benefit Transfer system.
  • For employers (Part B): Payments will be credited directly to their PAN-linked accounts.

Why Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Matters

The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana is more than a financial scheme—it’s a step toward building a stronger, more secure workforce in India. By encouraging both job creation and job seekers, it helps:

  • Expand formal employment.
  • Bring crores of young Indians under social security.
  • Strengthen the manufacturing sector, which is vital for India’s growth story.
