The Vidyanjali Portal, launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to strengthen schools by connecting them with community volunteers, NGOs, and other contributors who wish to support education in various ways. Through this portal, schools can request resources, services, and assistance to improve their infrastructure and learning environment.

My View on Vidyanjali Portal

Vidyanjali helps people like retired teachers, scientists, government officials, professionals, homemakers, and even NRIs to directly connect with government and government-aided schools across the country. Through this portal, they can contribute either by donating materials or equipment or by sharing their time, knowledge, and skills with students.

For example, a retired teacher can take extra classes to help students understand difficult subjects, or a sports coach can train students in athletics. Similarly, volunteers can donate things like books, furniture, sports kits, computers, or even help in repairing school infrastructure.

The contributions are divided into two main types — services/activities and assets/materials.

  1. Services / Activities
  • Generic Level Activities
  • Sponsorship Activities
  1. Assets / Material / Equipment
  • Basic Civil Infrastructure
  • Basic Electrical Infrastructure
  • Classroom Needs
  • Digital Infrastructure
  • Equipment for Co-Curricular Activities & Sports
  • Health and Safety Aids
  • Item for Residential Schools
  • Maintenance & Repairs
  • Office Needs
  • Teaching Learning Material
  • Tool Kits and Miscellaneous Equipment

These include things like improving classrooms and labs, setting up digital facilities, providing teaching materials, and supporting health and safety programs.

I personally feel this is a wonderful idea because it not only improves the quality of education but also builds a connection between schools and society. It’s inspiring to know that people from different professions can come forward to help schools grow. I hope more people join this initiative, as it can really make a big difference in the lives of students.

  2. You’ll return to the main page.
  3. On the right side, select Login → School.

You can log in either by:

  • Entering your UDISE code and OTP, or

  • Enter your UDISE code and Captcha, then click Submit.
  • Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Create a new password (8–14 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special symbols).

After setting the password, log in again using your UDISE code, password, and Captcha.

Step 2: Send a Request on the Vidyanjali Portal

Once logged in, you’ll see several options on the left side of the dashboard.
To send a new request:

  1. Click on Asset Material.
  2. On the right side, click the “+” (plus) icon to create a new request.
  3. A form titled “Add New Asset/Material Request” will appear.

Now fill in the details as follows:

  • Category: Select Maintenance and Repair.
  • Asset Material Name: Choose Painting/White Washing.
  • Maintenance Required For: Choose 1 Year.
  • Quantity (in Square Feet): Enter the total area that needs painting or repair work (calculate by adding the area of all rooms or sections).
  • Last Date of Receiving Application: Enter the date you are submitting the request.
  • Expected Date Before Material Need: Enter a date 20–30 days after the application date (e.g., if applying on 26 October, enter around 16 November).

In the Details of Asset/Material/Equipment box, describe the work clearly — for example:

“Painting and whitewashing required for two classrooms and the office area.”

(Write at least 20 words in this section.)

Finally, check the Terms and Conditions box and click Save and Publish.
Your request will now be sent to the concerned authorities or NGOs for review and approval.

Step 3: Next Steps After Request Submission

Once your request is approved, the concerned NGO or organization will contact you for further coordination.
In the next phase, schools must upload three photos before the work and three photos after the work is completed. These help in verifying the progress of the work done under the Vidyanjali initiative.

Conclusion

The Vidyanjali Portal is an excellent platform that bridges the gap between schools and community support systems. By registering your school on this portal, you can easily request materials, maintenance support, or volunteering help to enhance your school’s learning environment.

So, if your school is not yet registered, follow the steps above and complete your Vidyanjali Portal Registration 2025 today to take full advantage of this government initiative.
