The Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana was started in Maharashtra on 17th August 2024. Under this scheme, the government gives Rs. 1500 every month to women whose family income is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh per year. Around 1 crore women in Maharashtra will get help through this scheme.

According to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Mr. Eknath Shinde, the government has already given Rs. 3000 crore to eligible women. The government has also set aside Rs. 35,000 crore every year for this program. This scheme is also called Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana or Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana.

Benefits of Ladki Bahin Yojana of Maharashtra

  • This scheme will help women become financially strong and independent.
  • Every eligible woman will get Rs. 1500 per month, which can be used for daily needs like groceries, children’s education, or even small savings and investments.
  • Women can apply online for this scheme. They do not need to visit a government office, which saves time and effort.
  • With this financial help, women in Maharashtra can improve their standard of living and become more confident.

Latest Update (November 2025): Deadline Extension and Solution for e-KYC Issues

Many women (sisters) in Maharashtra have been trying to complete their e-KYC, but some faced difficulties. Here’s the latest update you must know:

Around 80% of women have successfully completed their e-KYC using the second Aadhaar OTP option — their husband’s or father’s Aadhaar.

However, about 20% of women could not complete their e-KYC because they don’t have a husband or father, and hence, could not use the second Aadhaar OTP option.

1. e-KYC Deadline and Extension Possibility

The current deadline for completing e-KYC is 18th November 2025.
Many women were worried that their payments might stop if their e-KYC wasn’t completed in time.

But here’s some good news —
According to Aditi Tatkare, the government is considering extending the deadline after reviewing the situation. She mentioned that if some sisters are still unable to complete their e-KYC by 18th November, the government will definitely consider an extension.

2. Solution for Widowed, Divorced, and Orphaned Women

The government has received complaints from widowed, divorced, and orphaned women who don’t have a father or husband. For them, completing e-KYC is difficult since they cannot provide a second Aadhaar number.

To resolve this, the government will soon introduce a new option — either directly on the official website or through an alternative process — to help these women complete their e-KYC easily.

So, if you’re one of those affected, don’t worry — your e-KYC will definitely be completed, and you’ll continue receiving the ₹1500 monthly benefit.

Important Note: Even if the new update is not launched before 18th November, the deadline will be extended to ensure no eligible woman is left out.

6. Family Information Declaration

You will now be asked two main questions regarding your family status:

  1. Is there a regular government employee in your family?
Choose Yes (होय) or No (नाही).
  2. Has only one married and one unmarried woman in your family benefited from the scheme?
Again, choose Yes (होय) or No (नाही) depending on your situation.

  • Click the Submit button.

If all the information is accurate, a green success message will appear confirming that your KYC is successful.
