The Finance Minister of the state, Chandrima Bhattacharya, has announced that the Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026 is expected to be launched from 15th August 2026. However, the implementation of this scheme will depend on whether the TMC government returns to power after the upcoming assembly elections. For this initiative, the government has allocated a substantial budget of ₹5,000 crore, highlighting its commitment to supporting unemployed youth across the state.

Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026

Many people have been asking about the difference between the previous Yuvasree Scheme and the newly announced Bekar Bhata Scheme. Under the old Yuvasree Scheme, beneficiaries received ₹1,500 per month, and the eligible age group ranged from 18 to 45 years. In contrast, the new Bekar Bhata Scheme 2026 will also provide financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month, but the eligible age group has been revised to 21 to 40 years. Additionally, applicants must have passed at least the secondary level (Class 10) to qualify under the new scheme.
